Introduction

Lasagne is a crowd pleaser and once made put it ion the oven and relax!

Oven temperature

200°c/180°c fan – 400°f – Reg 6

Steps

Preparation

  1. Wipe clean and break mushrooms into pieces

  2. Peel and chop onion and garlic

  3. Grate Cheese

Instructions

  1. Fry onion and garlic until translucent, then add mince break up and fry until just starting to brown add mushrooms for 1 minute,

  2. Add tomato paste, Henderson’s relish, dried oregano and a pinch of sugar to stock and mix until all combined.

  3. Pour stock over meat mixture and cook for approx. 5 minutes (this is your ragù)

  4. Make the cheese sauce by heating butter in a non-stick saucepan add flour and stir until you have a paste mixture with no lumps.

  5. Gently add milk and stir all the time until smooth and thickening, add cheese and melt into milk, then add seasonings to taste.

  6. Oil an oven-proof dish and start layering your ingredients

  7. Firstly, a layer of ragù mixture. then sheets of lasagne another layer of ragù, followed by last sheets of lasagne.

  8. Pour over the cheese sauce covering all the top layer of lasagne.

  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

Cooks tips

Make the lasagne a day before and then just heat it makes life simple and the taste improves with keeping for a short while
