Lockdown news from Château La Tour de Chollet

We have one producer in the Bordeaux Region of France.

Paul and Kirstie in their tasting room

Paul and Kirstie bought Château La Tour de Chollet in 2006 they had little vineyard knowledge but learning as they went - with the passion to make a completly organic wine. Now 14 years later they have made a great success of the business.

How has Covid effected them

"A quick update.........the vineyard work continues as usual, though impacted by me having to home school the boys - I still haven't worked out how to be in two places at the same time, which is a real shame as that would be really useful!!

Summer in the vineyard

Our online UK sales have also been good, which is a relief as we obviously haven't had any visitors at the vineyard in France.  We are hoping that enough of the lockdown will be lifted in time for August and perhaps for the tail end of July which is our busy time here for cellar door sales and crucial for the business.

The 2019 is in tank waiting to be bottled, and we still don't have a date as to when that can be done.

Sauvignon Blanc bubbling in the tanks

We don't quite know how the harvest will be affected, but as we are organic we probably won't be as badly affected as non-organic producers which look as though they are in for a tough time with sales dropping off and the price of bulk wine falling.  Organic wines so far, (fingers crossed) seem to be holding their value,

And relax!

The best news is that it has finally stopped raining and the sun is out - hurrah!!

take care and hope to see you soon"

Thanks Kirsty for the update. Lovely to hear from you and yes hopefully see you in the Autumn!

At the moment we have sold out of Chollet wines but we will be restocking soon. Let us know if you would like us to pre-order anything
